...joining in the latest craze in blogland -  I just had to make a Scappy Trip Around The World quilt too.
The tutorial for these scrappyluscious blocks is here at QuiltVille. I warn you though, these blocks are addictive!
I did as the instructions said and threw in a bit of Everything!!  I raided some jelly rolls that have been in my cupboard for ages, I rummuged through my scrap bins for anything the right size and cut strips off unsuspecting yardage. I laid the strips out in colours beside my machine then without thinking too much just randomly sewed strips together into pairs. Then pairs were sewn to pairs and so on.
It has made a much more random result than if I had planned each block. There's some crazy combos going on but its definitely scrappy!  I've ended up with about 35 sets of strips and so far have sewn about half into blocks.

We've been going through a heat wave with temperatures between 30-40 degrees (86-104 F) so I get up early in the cool of the morning and sew a few blocks before racing off to work. It's fun seeing it grow and take over my design wall.

I have another project on the go for when it's too hot to sew in my sewing room. I sit in front of a cool fan and hand quilt my Dollop Of Cream quilt. It's nice to work with refreshing pale colours on a warm day.

I couldn't resist adding a little bird.

My friend Melissa Peda of 100 Billion Stars has created a stunning quilt called Garden Geometry. The perfect fabric combo of  wonderful Amy Butler mixed with Parson Gray's Seven Wonders range.. Melissa is offering a free pattern to down load and a generous giveaway too!! It's such a great pattern, maybe it'll be a super sew along one day!  Pop over and have a look here.
