Crazy Love

Remember this quilt top from ages ago?

It's now a quilt!!!

It's actually been finished for a few weeks now but I've been struggling to get a really good photo of it.

The fabrics, Crazy Love by Sis Boom, are so beautiful. They're rich and exotic, bright and pretty all at the same time. I've been trying to capture that on film.

Although close, I don't think I've quite captured their true beauty.
Maybe it's been the light, my camera or maybe some fabrics just need to be seen in real life to be believed.

For the backing I used a top I made a few years ago using mostly Brandon Mably fabrics.

I'm happy it's found it's destiny combined with the Crazy Love top. They make a perfect combo. Gbf calls it a Double A side quilt after the vinyl record singles that had great songs on both sides. A flash back to our youth!

Tanya Croft, my Long Arm Wonder Lady and I decided that circles would be a fun pattern to suit both sides. Those bubbly curves soften the geometric angles and make your eyes dance around in circles.

So there you go, That's the quilt I call Crazy Love. And I am crazy about it! It's on the bed and brightens our room. One day I'm going to make lots of pillow cases in Sis boom fabrics to match. Can't have enough of a good thing!

Crazy Love

  14. Drop dead gorgeous! Both sides! I commiserate with you on the difficulty of getting the absolute best photo of projects that involve Sis Boom. It's almost as if the saturated colors are just too fabulous for film. But you've done an excellent job capturing the beauty and love in this quilt. Love it!

  20. I'm in love with that quilt! And it shows off perfectly hanging on that tree! It's like a black and white photo that's had a digital color added to the quilt! So vibrant and alive! I love it!

And you are way too young to remember vinyl records and 'A' sides! You must have been watching an old Gidgit movie! lol

  28. I have CRAZY LOVE for this quilt. It is fabulous.
I love that used a quilt top for the backing. I have to confess that is one backing I haven't tried yet - what have I been doing with my time? lol.
The bubbles add so much to it with their loopy movement -
Hooray for a beautiful finish - enjoy!
p.s. I loved all the creative photos
