ReplyDeleteI love my yard because it's full of plants my husband and I picked out. We walk the yard and check out the progress of each - what's blooming, what's sprouting, what's having troubles, etc. we watch the fish swim in the pond, watch for water lily blooms, hunt for the snails in the pond and lizards on the lattice behind the pond. It's not a huge yard but it's ours and we've planted and nurtured everything in it.

following on my feedreader ...
ReplyDeleteMy garden - I love everyhting about it, but if it comes really down to it I like burrowing my hands into that perfectly not too dry not too wet slightly crumbly perfect fresh soil that you get in spring, when you hoped all winter for a few days of really really cold temps. to break up your big chunks of soild from turning the beds ...
ReplyDeleteBut then I also like being all muddied after marathon planting ... I once spend a very wet rainy autumn day planitng 6 rows of strawberries I doubt there was a bit of me left unmuddied ...
I rather love the "inbetween" snacking walking by the berries and grabbing a hand ...
And I like it if my planting plans turn out well - high perennials, low perennials high andlow annuals in between ... highlights groupings ... did I take away too much of the ever spreading sunflowers too few, did the mint get trough winter well and is covering that low part at the right ...
Ok I'm going to stop - I love gardening. The only thing I do not like is sieving the compost.
Very exciting for you!! Can't wait to read through this book for sure.:) I follow through Google, Bloglovin' and have you on my link list too!
