I've been making a  mess!!

One minute I was innocently rummaging through my collection of Sis Boom fabrics looking for the right ones to use for my hexagons and the next minute I knew there were fabrics strewn everywhere. All over my sewing room, in the lounge room, everywhere!  I did find the right fabrics and came up with more combos of blocks to make. The more I look the bigger my quilt will be.

It's not all mess and chaos.

See.. here's my basted hexagons kept neatly in boxes.

I always leave my needles threaded. Somehow it's easier to get started if there are needles ready and waiting.

Quilter's fuel - a nice cup of tea, served on a mug rug of course. I realised while sewing, the mug rug matched the block I was working on.

One thing I'm really enjoying about making hexagons with Sis Boom fabrics is descovering details. A lot of prints have quite large patterns and choosing which parts to cut out for my 1 inch hexies makes me look at the fabrics in a different way.

My most recent block...

It's not all sewing around here, I've been reading Kaffe Fasset's autobiography called Dreaming in Colour. I'm about halfway through and really enjoying reading about his childhood growing up in Big Sur, adventures in Europe and now in London.. I wonder what will happen next. It's full of wonderful stories and beautiful pictures add colour throughout.

One more thing, This Friday the Blogger's Quilt Festival begins so pick your favourite quilt and join in the fun.  Find out more at Amy's Creative Side

I'm off to tidy up my messy sewing room.
