GiveAway!! Down Under Quilts and Bloglovin
Newsflash!!! I nearly fell off my chair when I found out Blue Mountain Daisy was mentioned in the latest edition of Down Under Quilts.
The magazine has a new feature recommending blogs to visit. I cannot say how much of an honour it is to have my humble little blog on the list!!! I'm in excellent company, above me is Basket Full of Scraps, my friend Sujata's blog about using scraps, one of my favourite blogs. There's other fabulous blogs like Dottie Angel and Material Obsession.
As you can imagine I'm very excited to see my name in print !!! After doing a happy dance in the newsagents I bought 2 extra copies of Down Under Quilts to give away.
Yippee - GiveAway!!!
So to win a copy I just have an easy question to ask ...
What sort of articles do you like to read in craft magazines?
Is it the patterns that you flip to? Or reading about crafty craftsters? or even the glossy ads for fabulous new fabrics and shops?
I'll ship here, there and everywhere so everyone can enter.
If you're a super duper follower you can leave another comment.
I'll randomly choose 2 lucky winners next Sunday at midday Blue Mountains, Australia time.
It looks as though Bloglovin is the new fun way to follow blogs, so I would love it if you would...
If you follow my blog on Bloglovin and let me know I'll follow you back.
Hi , This GiveAway is now closed - Thanks to everyone who joined in and left such great comments! :)
I'm off to check out some wonderful recommended blogs...
Cheerio.

CONGRATS on having your blog listed! That is fabulous! When I read craft or quilt magazines, I do look for ideas of things to make, but I also love articles about good blogs, and also articles by my favorite designers, such as Kaffe Fassett.
ReplyDeleteI am a happy regular follower!
ReplyDeleteI'd say I look at the photos of all the quilts and projects first, then read the instructions, and on my second pass will look at the articles and ads.

I'm already following you on Bloglovin.
Congratulations, must be a great feeling to read your name in the magazine.
ReplyDeleteKeep my fingers cross for the give-away.Thank You
Great that you were mentioned in the magazine. I've just signed up to you via Bloglovin. Put the wrong blog name, I think! It should be koshkaquilts and it would be great if you were a follower! Love to win the Giveaway, it's a super magazine.
ReplyDeleteEeeekkk(that's me squealing in delight at your fabulousness !) Congratulations and well done Rachael!
ReplyDeleteHi Rachael, How exciting !!!! I was just as excited when this issue came out cause thats my quilt on the cover !!!! Thats a whole lot of squeeling between the Blue Mountains and the Hunter !!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. You deserve to be on the blogroll, your blog is always full of inspiration & colour and it makes me happy when I read it. L xo
I love to see articles featuring cheery quilts with beautiful color combinations. Articles about how other quilters create are great too. It's hard to find Down Under Quilts here (in Tennessee), although I love the magazine. I buy it whenever I can find a copy at a local fabric store. Rebecca
ReplyDeleteRachael! This is so incredible. I'm so happy for you and it is very well deserved. You always make such beautiful quilts =D
ReplyDeleteI'm a regular follower too =D
ReplyDeleteI love reading interviews with designers!
ReplyDeleteYou go, girl! Wow - you are famous! Your lovely quilts and the happiness that goes with them pays dividends :-D
ReplyDeleteI love looking at the patterns in quilt magazines - how did they put that together? - but more, I love the ads, the shops, the ways they present themselves, the dreams they entail.
It's great to see an overlap between printed magazines and blogs. I love reading about crafty people and seeing photos of the things they make .. and there are never enough articles like that. I usually pull those insert patterns out and drop them in a box as I never use patterns and don't to applique (but might one day). I prefer to see a photo of a whole quilt so I can work out how it was put together rather than several arty photos of the quilt that only show bits. I also like to see letters and photos sent in by readers. I usually get good value from a magazine by looking at everything.
ReplyDeleteHooray for your well deserved recognition! How wonderful for you.
ReplyDeleteNot surprised as there is always creative fun to be found here on your corner of the blog world.
congrats my friend!
I usually like to read quilt history or what inspires a quilt maker.
xx

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I like the articles with a quilt pattern. :)
ReplyDeleteI follow with Bloglovin'. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I like the recommended blogs list feature, how great that you are on it! I like to look at the patterns first, I tend to flick through the entire thing quickly, stopping at the patterns, then go back for a whole proper read afterwards :)
ReplyDeleteI'm now following on bloglovin'. I'm stubbornly refusing to leave google reader until they kick me off, but I've moved all my subscriptions onto bloglovin' and feedly in preparation!
ReplyDeleteGoodness me, what a coup! Well deserved though. You are not just a great blogger and quilter but a generous supporter of other bloggers.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite thing to read in a new mag are the profiles/interviews with crafty folks and peeks into their creative spaces...I just love that. I am also an advertisement scourer!
Well done you.
I like to read about what inspires people, what makes them happy, what makes them want to create
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the patterns. But I also love the amazing pics of pizewinning quilts of all kinds!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I love your blog and quilts so much! To answer your question, first I look at the quilts, then I scrutinize the fabric ads, and lastly I read the technique articles.
ReplyDeleteCongrats for your blog being famous.
ReplyDeleteI like reading the patterns. So many possibilities.
I just found your blog today so I am a brand new follower.
ReplyDeleteI live in the mountains too. I wonder if we know each other hehe.
