Sew Mama Sew Give Away Day!
Hip Hip Hooray!!! It's Sew Mama Sew Give Away Day!!!!
I came up with my Give Away gift idea when I received so many wonderful comments about my Very Merry Merry Go Round Quilt during the last Bloggers Quilt Festival. It's those wonderful Queen of The May blocks that make it so much fun! Imagine them on cushions, table runners or a feature on a skirt.
So to help you on your way to making some Queen of the May Blocks I'm giving away a set templates. These are made by Material Obsession and result in a 12 inch circle. I'll include some instructions and tips.
Your templates will always be safe and cosy in this little pouch I made for them.
And so you can see what you are making you'll receive a cute little doll quilt featuring a Queen of the May block.

Normally I enjoy replying to comments by email but past experience has taught me that Giveaway Day can get pretty busy!!! So I'll thank you all now for taking the time to visit my part of the blogosphere, I wish you all luck and hope everyone wins something!!

My favorite tool has to be my rotary cutter--and rulers--definitely the most used. But they are definitely aided by having a large table for a cutting area! (Your giveaway prize is fantastic! Your quilt is so lovely--love those circles!)
ReplyDeleteWell, I love my little handle that holds my ruler while I'm using my rotary cutter. Let's just say I had a little mishap awhile back...ouch! Thank you for the give away chance.

My favourite sewing accessory would be my pin cushion I received as a gift from lovely Mary! I look at it and use it every day! It keeps all my needles and pins safe and off the floor. Therefore they stay OUT of my husband's feet!

ReplyDeleteMy favourite thing is my unpicker, I use it a lot. It's very very useful, works well and it's a good multi tasker as it's also good to use to hold the fabric in place as it goes under the sewing foot on the machine.
I am a follower too, so thanks for the extra chance.

My most favorite sewing aid has to be my needle threader, without which I would never sew another stitch by hand as it would take me an hour and much swearing to get that pesky thread through the shrinking hole of the needle.
Following on from that...is it true that the manufacturers are making needles skinnier and the holes smaller these days? Or is it my eyes?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite, aside from my sewing machine, of course, is my rotary cutter. Can you imagine trying to quilt without it?! Thanks for the generous giveaway - love the binding on your quilt!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely block and a great idea for storing templates so they are safe...my most useful tool now would have to be my reading glasses which I got this year...I now wear them when choosing fabric at the shop 9to avoid potential disasters) after I discovered a "plain" fabric I'd bought actually had a little print on it when I put my glasses on at home! I enjoy reading your blog and the way you use colour...
