When I'm not sewing hexagons...
I've been quilting my Amish Star quilt.
I've stitched in the ditch and done some crazy zig zag quilting with my machine and now I'm having fun with perle 8 thread. Lovely big chunky stitches of colour. It's been a while since I did any hand quilting so I'm still finding my rocking rhythm.
I'm half way through sewing the binding on my Wild Thing quilt. I'll do a proper finished quilt post about this one soon.
I have 2 more quilts waiting to be bound. I'm going to attempt machine binding - wish me luck.
I've made some house blocks for Beth at Love Laugh Quilt for her Neighbourhood Party.
Some of the blocks will become prizes in a house block lottery and some are used for charity quilts.
The deadline is January the 1st, so there's plenty of time to sew a few more...
I've finally quilted my Sunny Day in Swoon Town doll quilt. This little quilt has waited six months for me to quilt it and when I finally did it hardly took any time at all, I finished it in one evening. I wonder why I put these things off.

ReplyDeleteI only machine bind my stuff and I first tried it a couple ways but found that the Plaid Scottie's method works best for me. She has a tutorial on her blog. I cut my binding 2 3/4 and sew at 3/8 and it works out perfect every time.
