I made a skirt!! I really chuffed with myself because I often think about making skirts, and I talk about making skirts, I buy patterns and fabrics for skirts but for some reason I never really get around to making them.

A few things prompted me to finally get skirting.

Firstly a parcel of fabulous fabrics my friend Melissa P of 100 Billion Stars arrived in my mail box.

A selection of pieces from Jenean Morrison's Beechwood Park range.

Secondly daffodil in my garden announced that it is Spring. How better to celebrate than with a new
skirt!

And thirdly I recently came across a pattern for a Happy Scrappy Skirt , love that name.
It's simple but it's fun and it lets the fabric do the talking.

I didn't quite have enough to go all round so I had to get a bit creative with piecing. I wear the pieced part on the side and I think it adds interest, it is a Happy Scrappy skirt after all.

That big scale print would make an awesome border on a quilt! I love the way the flowers look as though they're floating over each other. Very groovy!!

I know clothes on hangers are a bit lifeless so here I am modelling in the garden.

So there you go, proof that I made a skirt! And now you'll know what I'll be wearing on sunny Spring days.

There were some other fabulous fabrics in Melissa P's parcel  - She know's I'm a fan of Jane Sassaman's fabrics and this is Jane's latest range - Wild Child..
Have a guess at what I've made with them. I'll send a surprise to anyone who guess correctly.
